Your heart monitor needs a conduction medium on the electrodes, to allow the heart rate to be transmitted to the receiver. Some conduction mediums are tap water, sweat and conduction gel.
Conduction gel offers the advantage of being easy to apply and tidy, compared to water. It offers immediate conduction, compared to waiting for a horse to exercise long enough to sweat.
This is a unique chloride-free electrolyte which is non-allergenic, odorless, water soluble and non-staining. It spreads easily and evenly and will not dry while in use. Apply directly to electrodes or onto skin.
